Brady Snakovsky, a 10-year old boy in our own backyard, has raised over $315,000 for Police K-9 vests. Nearly $103,000 of that was from his GoFundMe page, started January 7, 2018.

“I started my campaign with a goal of collecting enough funds to purchase one ballistic vest for a K9 in need. Through the support of my family, the community and a great company, Line Of Fire Defence Systems, I was able to not only donate 1, but 4 ballistic vests for K9s.”

“We were watching the show together and I didn’t even notice that the dog wasn’t wearing a vest,” Leah Tornabene, Brady’s mom, told  CNN.

“I was quite surprised that a child at age eight could recognize that there was an issue there and that he could find a solution to fix that problem. It made me very proud to see him doing this.”

Brady had a dream of raising money to purchase and donate a single vest for one police K-9. He was watching the popular show, Live PD, when he realized the cops were wearing vests but not the dogs. This young boy then decided to set out on a mission.

By February 2018, Brady had raised enough money to donate four K-9 vests, not just one. And he didn’t stop there.

"The K-9's should have a ballistic vest just like their human partners."

A few years after starting his GoFundMe page and Brady’s K9 Fund website, and he’s already raised $315,000 and enough money to purchase 257 K-9 vests.

Brady’s passion meant more than earning money online for the dogs’ vest. He also set out to raise awareness for the dogs’ ballistic armor need. Brady started attending events in the community, writing letters to congressmen, and telling anyone he met about his goals. Soon enough, the word spread.

Now, Brady is doing more than raising money to outfit police K-9s with vests. His non-profit has started raising money for military working dogs in need of ballistic vests, as well.

Where’s Brady headed now? Well, according to him, he’s headed toward becoming a police officer himself, just like his stepfather, because he wants to help keep people safe.
