The four rules of firearm safety are:

  1. Treat all firearms as if they are loaded.

  2. Never point your firearm at anything you are not willing to destroy.

  3. Know what is in your target’s foreground and background.

  4. Keep your finger off the trigger until you’re ready to fire.
